Whole Foods Market has also issued a Recall of its Private label Brand Tahini.

The Recall is for: 365 Organic Everyday Value Sesame Tahini 16-oz Jar

Contact Whole Foods at:

Phone: (512) 477-5566 Extension 20656
or via email at privatelabel.customerservice@wholefoods.com.

My speculation:

This is connected to the nSpire Recall of the Maranatha Tahini 16ounce size. Read the May 30,2007 Alkaline Lifestyle Blog Post about the nSpire Recall.

Whole Foods is recommending that you bring in the Jars for a refund.
I suggest:
Return any and all UNOPENED bottles of 16 ounce Sesame Tahini to where you bought it and get a refund.
The Date code on the Jars is on the Metal Lid right in the center on the Outside.
The recall is for ALL 16 ounce jars with UPC number 0009948240599 and a Use by Date of 10/02/07 and earlier.

Example:
If the lid has a date of 09/05/07 it is part of the Recall.
If the date is 12/01/07 it is OK.

If you have used any of the product in the Jar, do not return it for a refund now.
I suggest you SAVE it.
Place the whole jar in a Zip Locked Plastic bag and place it back in the refrigerator.
Wait 30 Days and if all is well with everyone who consumed it, then dispose of it.

If God Forbid you or your child suffered harm and you quickly returned the only evidence of the cause, According to the Lawyers you could be with out any recourse and proof in a claim of action for damages.
The companies involved in this Food recall want to limit their exposure; legally and financially.
That has very little to do with YOUR burden if some one you love is harmed by the product.
Why rush to get a refund for less than $7.00 Dollars, when if some one is harmed, the damages YOU suffer could run into the hundreds of thousands of Dollars over a lifetime.

Wait the 30 days before doing anything and again SAVE the Jar with the product stored back in the refrigerator.

I called the Whole Foods phone number listed in the Press release and they answered promptly and said no receipt was required to return the product.

As I said in the May 30th Blog Post ,I recommend that you save ALL your food purchase receipts, even if it is throwing them in a box on the floor in your home office and then dumping them at the end of the year.

Be wise:
If you were harmed by a food product, prove that you bought it at the store will be the first question a defending Lawyer is going to ask.
A receipt from the store and a jar with the preserved contaminated product will probably win your case every time.
This is not the Last time something like this is going to happen so be prepared by:
  1. Saving all your Food purchase receipts
  2. Staying tuned to the FDA Recall Alerts
  3. Living the Alkaline Lifestyle

Sunlight and Skin Cancer,Whats the Truth?

517 words

You were designed to be in Sunlight. Very few people like living in a dark cave or under a rock.
When Spring arrives, for those living where there is winter, think how you feel when the cold weather breaks ,the sun comes out ,the trees start budding and you go outside and the fresh air and bright sunlight are on your face. Feels great doesn't it?
• Did you know that over a Hundred Years ago a scientist won the Nobel Prize in Medicine for discovering Photherapy? (Using Sunlight and certain wavelengths of light to heal)

• That Seventy percent of U.S. citizens are deficient in vitamin D.

• Vitamin D is a powerful anti-oxidant that prevents cancer.

• That Natural Sunlight shining directly on large areas of skin produces Vitamin D?

Try to get 30 minutes of sunlight daily without slathering on sunscreens or wearing sun glasses. This will help restore ultraviolet light, which is literaly a critical nutrient, to the body and which raises vitamin D levels.

If you are going to follow this advice , then what will protect your skin from the radiation found in natural sunlight?
The Answer is Fats. Not smeared on the outside of the body but consumed inside the body as food.

There are Three (3) Major benefits from consuming the right Fats:

1. You Oil the Skin from the Inside out thus building a protective layer of opaque fatty tissue which protects the other cells beneath.
2. Over 70% of your total body energy is produced from burning Oxygen and
Essential Fats in a process caused the Kreebs Cycle. No Essential Fats,No Energy!

3. Hormones are created with Fats. Hormones are Fats! Did you know that cholesterol is a Hormone?

Essential Fats such as Udo's Oil Blend consumed as a liquid food, and not in Gel Capsules, is a "Perfect" Blend of Omega 3-6-9 Oils. Studies have shown that 90 % of U. S. citizens are seriously depleted of Essential Fats, because they are absent from most popular processed foods. When we lack omega 3 fatty acids our bodies are forced to use synthetic transfats to build the membranes that surround each cell.Yes each Healthy cell is made with a layer of fat. Starving the body of the correct plant based Essential Fats forces the body to create flawed cell membranes leading to Type 2 diabetes, arteriosclerosis, obesity and malignancies.

Persons depleted of omega 3 fatty acids, along with an Acidic Body pH Level become immune suppressed, which enables cancers to start growing and spreading.

So it is not the Sunlight that is the problem,it is a Fats starved Body

Alkaline Lifestyle: Clothing and Your Health- Flip-Flops

544 Words

As summer time approaches and we start unbundling from the winter weather, visions of going to the pool, beach or parks enter our minds. It also generates the thought of liberating our feet from the confines of shoes and goulashes and going around in:
Flip-Flops.
I’ve referenced an interesting article that mentions, Flip-flops were made for the pool or beach, not for permanent wear.
I have taken to walking through a Large Mall recently and I have observed first hand the damage wearing Flip-Flops does to the Posture of anyone wearing them.
If you want to wear an open type sandal, then I recommend that you buy the type of Sandal that has a Strap around the back side of the foot, which lifts the Sole of the Sandal when walking and which has a thick foam type Sole.
Wearing Flip-Flops causes an unnatural gait and produces miss-alignment through out the body and its joints. That in turn, leads to aches, numbness, headaches, and even worse, as Chiropractors will tell you.

Here are some excerpts from:

The flip-flop flap: They're bad for your feet
Credit:
BY LISA GREENE of the
St. Petersburg Times

They may whisper ease and comfort. They may hint that sliding them on brings you two steps closer to lounging by the pool in a small swimsuit with a large margarita.
But under those cute little thongs lurk hidden dangers. Alas, flip-flops are bad for your feet.
"Many people wear flip-flops in the summer as a replacement for their normal shoe gear," said Cary Zinkin, a podiatrist who is a spokesman for the American Podiatric Medical Association. "That's where we find the problems."
No, they won't kill you. But flip-flop overuse can give you tendinitis, arch pain and even sprained ankles, podiatrists say.
This wasn't always so. Just a few years ago, people were more sensible. Flip-flops stayed by the beach or the pool, and podiatrists could confine themselves to bemoaning the perils of the stiletto heel.
"We're probably seeing 10 people a week with flip-flop issues," said podiatrist Robert Frimmel, past president of the Florida Podiatric Medical Association.
People wear them for too long, and flip-flops have no support. They don't absorb shock. They're unstable, making it easier to turn an ankle. Frimmel sees shin splints and arch pain, heel pain and blisters. And then there are the cases of plantar fasciitis, an inflammation of the tissue on the bottom of the foot.
Other problems can include stress fractures and cracks in the heel because the shoes don't absorb shock.
For all the shoes' seductive sponginess, they provide little support. So they can stress other joints, causing tendinitis in the ankle and pain in the knees and back. And, by definition, flip-flops don't protect the feet.
